jan 30

yesterday we stayed in Palm Springs and trained at the large golds gym that's in town. it is a totally different scene then Venice, but Ben and I had a kick ass chest work out! last nite was our buddy Jesse Godderz last nite with us (he was on mtv's exposed, LOL) we all went to IN and OUT BURGER which is pretty famous on the west coast...I wasnt impressed, but I got an employee hat that i took some funny pics in! today we are just takin it easy, were gonna train back later in Palm Springs. tomorrow i think were gonna go back to Venice, hopefully i still get access to a computer for the rest of the week. I miss everybody alot, especially Nicole, but I'll be home soon!

yesterday i travelled to the "mecca" of all bodybuilding, GOLDS GYM VENICE. it took us almost 3 hours to get there but it was all worth it. muscular developments video specialist bill comstock is filming a mini documentary on my self and freak Ben Pakulski as we train for the north american championship...thats right, no junior nationals for me this year, i need more time to bring up my legs! Ben and i trained legs like maniacs for the camera yesterday, i thought i was pretty strong until i met this dude. Ben finished his last set of squats with 6 plates per side for 5 deep reps with no wraps or belt! i got to eat at the famous fire house restaurant and we ran into ifbb pro Silvio Samuel, taking a nap on the couch at jay cutlers max muscle store! i also got to meet legendary trainer Charles Glass, who was really nice and personable. Ifbb pros, Bob Chicherello and and Will Harris as well as Armin Shulz were all there training as well. i finished off the evening eating some great sushi with Ben, drove back to rancho mirage and called it a nite.

I'M IN CALI!

well, after a very long day of flying and sitting in airports, im finally in cali. yesterday i met my housemates, Dan Hill a younger guy from germany with tons of potential and Ben the new "quadzilla" Pakulski who is an absolute freak at 300lbs(check him out www.benpakulski.com) today(sunday) we relaxed and then went to see the new RAMBO. very cool movie, very gory! sly looks great for a 60 year old! tomorrow i head to Venice beach brite and early in the am. i will keep you posted on what goes down.

OFF TO CALI!

i finished up my weeks worth of training today with arms abs and calves. yesterday i did shoulders and traps. i feel like i am a bit over trained, but i really wanted to get everything in. 5 strait days of hard workouts is tough for me, i prefer a break after 3.
tomorrow i leave for cali!!! i am very excited, but at the same time i am a little bummed that i wont be with nicole for the week. this will be the first time we have been apart for more than a couple of days! Absence makes the heart grow fonder! i bet i will be really excited to see her when i return!
i am not sure weather ill be able to blog or not out there, but if i have access to a computer ill be on. this should be a great experience for me and i would like to thank Ed Connors for making it all possible. take care everyone, ill be back soon!

jan 24

not a very good back work out yesterday. my lower back is still very tight from legs on monday. i was disappointed. today im going to get a deep tissue massage to try to loosen it up.
i got my tickets and hotel room for the ARNOLD yesterday, im very excited, this will be my first one!
last nite i went to outback steakhouse with my good friends EDJ and Anthony. we had a blast! i ran into a bunch of old friends that i haven't seen in a while. we all got together and shared some laughs and great food. it was like a big party, probably one of my best times at outback ever, and thats saying alot because i have been there like a thousand times. im definitely gonna miss my hometown outback while im out in cali!

I had a great chest workout yesterday. my strength has really come back strong despite straining my peck about a month back. no off day for me today, ill be heading in to the gym around 3 to train back, gotta get it all in before i leave.
if anyone knows where i guy my size can get some jeans that fit right please send me an email. i called my buddy evan centopani last nite and asked him, but he had no luck either. my old jeans are just way to tight in my legs now, its very frustrating!

let me just start by saying that i am very disappointed in the green bay packers. i thought they were totally out coached by the giants and brett favre couldn't get it going in the frozen tundra. now my dream of a tom brady vrs brett favre super bowl is ruined.

yesterday was my leg day. i took the advice of dave palumbo and tried stretching before, during and after squats, i also sipped a Gatorade while training quads. i was able to train hams after quads without any bad cramps! i a really focusing on my legs like crazy, my upper body has gotten so big my legs are lagging behind a bit. i'm training everyday this week to make up for the lost day of travel on saturday, i hope i get nice weather in cali!
one more note, my guilty pleasure...GLADIATORS! LOL, i really enjoy it! mondays at 8, check it out!

jan 20

friday i had to do my usual workout of shoulders, calves and abs, but i also had to do some hamstrings to make up for what i couldnt do on monday. yesterday i did superserts for my arms (evan centopani style) my pump was great, the whole work out only took about 45 minn. last nite my boy billy guns came up from long island so we went out to eat at the outback steak house with my buddy mark and nicole. it was kinda funny, our table wound up being right next to a booth where my mom, dad, sister and grandparents were eating! we were all excited to see each other and had a great time over a great meal. after that i decided to show billy what CT is all about and took him to my friends club Horizon.(LOL) it was a little on the slow side for a saturday nite, but we still had a good time. my buddy Sean took good care of us! after the club we hit up Elmers diner at like 2 in the morning and pounded some more food. all in all it was a good nite. the games are starting in a couple of hours and i cant wait! at the beginning of the season i predicted pats vrs packers in the Superbowl...time will tell if i am right!

yesterday i had to train back, and as usual i had a great workout! i have been told my back is looking extra thick, but i still need more width! one exercise that i really like to do is bent over dumbbell rows with both arms at the same time. its a tough exercise because you cant use your other arm for balance! i really like the contraction i get with this exercise. one more week and im off to California, i cant wait!

tuesday i had a really kick ass chest workout, highlighted by incline dumbbell pressing 130 LB dumbbells for 12 reps with perfect form! i had an awesome pump and i was really strong on all my exercises that day! yesterday i was off so i took it easy and got some work done on my computer. i went to outback last nite with my friends EDJ and Anthony, we had a nice dinner and then i was back home to build a fire and relax with my girlfriend. i feel very rested today and i am really looking forward to training back later! thats all i got, have a great day everyone!

jan 15 LEGS!!

yesterday i trained legs, same as every other monday, but, from now on there is going to be a major change. after discussing things with the iron guru Dave Palumbo, i realize that my legs, all though good, are not ready for the next level yet. my lower body assessment: good front quads, but not enough outer sweep. decent ham development from the side, but not thick enough in the rear. not enough glute development, no where near enough inner thigh thickness, and pretty good calves. Dave's input" i want you starting out every workout with heavy wide stance squats, go nice and deep with controlled form and make this the bread and butter of your workouts." the main issue i have with this is a tricky one. i prefer to train quads and hams in the same day, but, for some reason i can not train hams after quads without getting intense spasms in the belly of my hamstrings! i have talked to experts and even asked doctors, no one has an explanation for this! so, for the past couple of years i have been training hamstrings before quads to avoid the problem.

I entered the gym with my blue print in mind. i warmed up and began my wide stance squats. i have always squatted with a relatively close stance, even in my competitive power lifting days. the wide stance felt very awkward to me. i typically will squat with 405 for plenty of reps, but yesterday i was limited to 275. mastering this new stance may take a few weeks! after i finished my squats, leg extensions, HEAVY hack squats and single leg- leg press i tried to do hams. after my first lite set of lying ham curls my legs started to lock up in the back and i had to call it a day. annoyed, i called Palumbo to give him my story. interestingly enough, Dave said he had the same problem when he was young, what finally helped him was thoroughly stretching out his legs before and after squats and again right before hams. he also suggested i sip on a Gatorade during my workout. next week, i will try again, if i cant go on, i am just gonna have to do hams on a separate day! on a positive note, my legs are way more sore today than usual, so i think the change is going to work well for me!

BUNGALOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i want to give a huge shout out to my good friends John and Banu Reynolds! they recently opened up a restaurant, BUNGALOW. located in Croton Falls, NY at 166 Stoneleigh ave. i went there for dinner on friday nite, i now have a new favorite restaurant! the food is delicious and whats even better, its very inexpensive. the atmosphere is quaint and relaxing, but the portions of food are large and filling! i highly recommend this restaurant to any one who enjoys high quality food at low cost prices! for reservations or info just call 845-669-8533 or visit the website at www.bungalow166.com

today i blasted arms at NO LIMIT FITNESS, I had a great workout! some people are telling me i should stop training arms because there getting too big...i dont care, in my opinion your arms can never be too big(with the exclusion of greg valintino). the rest of my weekend will consist of me eating and watching playoff football. ill talk to you all on monday, enjoy the games!

WOW, what a great back workout i had yesterday, i went up to 6 plates on the T-bar row. i had a great pump going and i was feeling extra strong. today is shoulders, traps calves and abs. hopefully i can keep this streak of good workouts going. today i am going to get ART therapy on my bad shoulder. i was going for about 7-8 weeks before my show and it really worked for me. now my pain is back again only this time in the back of my shoulder (having a torn labrium you have to deal with pain) i cant hit a front lat spread any more, the pain is just to severe. wish me luck, im going in a little while!

today is a busy day for me. tuesdays and thursdays are when i do all my work now. its very important that i start managing my time better on these days so i dont have to rush my workouts. today is back day. i will be getting back to the old program i was doing with t-bars, 1 arm db rows, lat pull downs, reverse seated close grip pull downs and dead lifts. i am excited! i just tried the new SPECIES ISOLYZE cherry vanilla, holy crap its awesome. i highly recommend you go check it out. if your tired of the standard vanilla and chocolate protein out there go to speciesnutrition.com and try out the cherry vanilla ISOLYZE! i should be able to preview the photos from my shoot tonite, so ill keep you posted on when they will be up on the site!

i had a busy day yesterday and i managed my time poorly. so, i only had about 45 minn to do my chest work out. i hate rushing through work outs because thats usually when injuries occur. needless to say, i managed to do 14 work sets in that time frame and im quite sore today. i havent been to the chiropractor in months so i made an appointment to go today, i also need to find someone to do some ART on my bad shoulder again because its gotten really painful. the things us body builders do to ourselves! it feels good to be back on a regular schedule again after back to back weeks of holidays! thats all for today, for everyone up here in new england, enjoy this weather, it aint gonna last!

sundays photo shoot went really well, and as soon as i get some pics i will have them posted in my members section! i enjoyed watching the football games this weekend, i also watched the new american gladiators. the new gladiator men are really cheesy with the exception of "wolf" who is just down right funny! the girls they picked are all hot fitness chicks with the exception of "helga" who is just a fat girl. all though the gladiators were not dominating in any way, hulk hogan makes the show very entertaining and i will definitely keep watching it. i thought they should have picked a couple of jacked powerful men as well as a couple of female bodybuilders, but thats just my opinion.
so, i was told by dave that i need to bring my legs up more. mainly my hamstring and inner thigh thickness. i went into the gym yesterday and had one of my best leg workouts in a long time. my friends will allways tell me how good i look, but that doesn't help me as a bodybuilder. i appreciate the way dave tells it like it is, and all though hearing critiques like that piss me off, it just makes me work harder! by the way, i went to outback sunday nite. they should make me there spokesperson.

body weight when i woke up today 259. shoulders went really well yesterday. i managed to get the 130 lb dumbbells for 6 reps on my last set, my form was a little off so im not satisfied yet. the side laterals before hand definitely make them harder. i got up early and trained arms today. i hate training in the am, but sometimes you gotta do it. my pump was unreal! for the rest of the day im gonna relax and eat. playoff football starts today so im really excited to see the games. POOR KITTY!!! kitty got his balls chopped of yesterday at the vet! he has to where this little cone around his neck and he looks like he got his ass kicked! to make matters worse his little sister bella keeps on attacking him! poor little guy,lol! imagine that procedure happening to you...thats a scary thought! i had a great chest workout wednsday. lots of inclines, barbell, hammer strength and dumbell. yesterday i trained back, i did all exercises that i never do just to really shock my back. i had a great pump going. today is shoulders, im going to continue my pursuit of the 13o lb dumbells, unless i do it for at least 6 reps i dont count it as a set. i can bang the 120s for 8-10 but those 130s are a different story, especially when you do laterals first! i have a photo shoot this sunday so hopefully i can get some new pics from the shoot updated fast, ill keep you posted!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

happy new year everybody!i wish you all the best of luck in 2008. yesterday was my first leg workout in NO LIMIT FITNESS, but i had to take it easy because i twisted my knee slipping on some black ice. hopefully my knee is ok. when i was done working out i came home and got ready for my new years gathering. i had some of my friends over for a relaxing evening of fun and food. my good buddies guy cisternino, jay castaldi and his girl kristen, rob delevega and his girl gina, and evan centopani and his girl erika all came over to hang out. we all had a nice relaxing time, nicole cooked tons of food. guy, jay and kristin all crashed at my place and left in the morning. im glad the holldays are over and im looking forward to kicking ass in 2008! 2007 was a year filled with ups and downs for me, but i wouldn't change a thing, i learned alot and got to experience many different things and places for the first time! happy new year everyone, make 08 your best year yet!
